The creation of pendants at Ercole Moretti follows a fascinating process that blends ancient craftsmanship with meticulous attention to detail, a legacy of over a century of history.

Each pendant begins its life with the selection and arrangement of murrine inside copper molds, a step that requires precision and a unique artistic vision to create color harmony.

The patient wait

These small works of art bear our family’s imprint, the M-murrina, and the Murano Artistic Glass trademark, guaranteeing authenticity. After being arranged on the “farassa,” the murrine begin their journey in the furnace, where heat transforms the glass into a liquid mass, allowing the individual pieces to fuse together, forming the shape of the future jewel. An entire night of cooling in the furnace is necessary to stabilize the material, a crucial step to ensure the pendant’s quality and durability.

The certainty of the spell

The next step involves removing the copper used on the pendant’s edges, preparing it for meticulous grinding and cleaning from clay residues. This process not only cleans but also polishes the jewel, preparing it for the final finishing stage. “Burattatura”, a distinctive and exclusive polishing process set up by Ercole Moretti, marks the highlight of the manufacturing process. For a week, the pendants rotate continuously in barrels, acquiring a polish that gives them a unique finish, soft to the touch and pleasing to the eye.
After fifteen days of meticulous work, the pendants are ready to be shipped worldwide. These jewels are not just accessories, but carriers of the charm and magic of Venice, creations that speak of history, tradition, and innovation.
